What is Gold Disk?

A unique DVD, DVD-ROM/CD-ROM or even a memory stick that contains desirable “locked” content (e.g. films, entertainment software) accessible only via activation codes.

Having more than one title on the Gold Disk gives end users the ability to choose the reward they want. Freely accessible previews/demos of each title increases the perceived value of the promotion & enhances the Gold Disk experience, it also means end users can try every title before they redeem.

How does it work?

Production

A single Gold Disk is produced with desirable content which is locked. The content, sourced by TLA, can be video content (e.g. movies, TV etc) or software (e.g. computer games through reference, educational, business and utility titles). Up to five of the latest PC games or up to twelve reference titles can be wrapped and locked on a disk.

Distribution

The Gold Disk can then be distributed to end users as a promotional premium. The lightweight DVD/CD can be easily distributed as an in pack promotion or through a direct mail campaign.

Activation

The locked content can only be accessed via unique coding. One or more of these unique codes can be distributed either with the Gold Disk as an instantly redeemable purchase incentive or, for example, via a phone/internet registration programme.

These codes will allow the end user to unlock content and therefore own any one or more of the titles. As all the titles can be installed and played in their demo/limited versions users can try before choosing which game to redeem users can also choose to buy unlock codes to purchase full games at preferential pricing.
